I had a great time chasing the Milky Way at Rushmere Country Park (Heath & Reach) and Ashridge Forest (Berkhamsted). I was keen to get going with this as the Milky Way core will be setting below the horizon soon for Winter. It really is amazing what's right there above our heads - if you fancy giving this a go, check out the video for some tips & camera settings. I'm super excited to try again in darker skies at some point next year, stay tuned! PHOTOGRAPHY GEAR LIST

I had a first try at capturing the Milky Way and despite being in a light-polluted part of the country and the sky being a little cloudy, I was so excited to see the beautiful center of our galaxy! I'm looking forward to trying this again in a dark sky reserve. Pitstone is what's known as a Bortle 5 site - a suburban sky area. See the Bortle scale on Wikipedia here Before & After Processing The first image is one single image straight out of camera. The second image is 25 image stacked and processed to bring out the details! A little wander about Totternhoe Knolls near Dunstable, Bedfordshire. There a definitely some Autumn colours about, eeak! Just love this next bit of the year!
