Our Winter | An Appreciation of Simple Things

2/21/2021

I only decided to make a short winter film in early February, but this ended up taking weeks to create! I'm just learning filming, so filming the different elements with my professional photography gear took lots of time, with lots of visits to our local outdoor places. Filming myself with the DSLR was also tricky, but really fun to learn. I learned how to create a night sky time-lapse, how to use an external mic and had a go with voiceovers and recording sounds. I really loved putting this together and hope to try another one in the spring if I have the time. Hope you enjoy!

Flame Grilled Lamb on a Winter Hike | Bushbox XL | The Chilterns - December 2020

12/1/2020

This was my first time using the Bushbox XL, in fact the first time I’ve cooked on any stove other than my usual gas hiking stove. I loved this! It cooked my lamb to perfection, but even if you’re not cooking and just want to have a fire without damaging the ground, this seems to be a top bit of kit. Let me know what you think of yours!

I went for a local 6 mile hike and stopped for brunch along the way - this was the first time I've tried any real sort of cooking on a hike, might try something sweet next time :D It was nice to have a sunny day for a change, as much as I love being a drowned rat haha

Big thank you to those who have purchased prints from the WildBeare Shop this week! They are in creation and will be shipped out early week :D

Thanks for watching! Claire

Halloween Wild Camping In The Woods! Plus New Drone!

10/26/2020

No ghosts of witches (apart from myself of course, muhahaha) but I found the most gorgeous little place, with a water source! And got try out my new Mavic Mini drone (love!) and DJI gimbal. This was also my first time using my new Leviathan 900 four season sleeping bag, they'll be a separate video review coming for this - keep an eye on my YouTube channel or the Gear Reviews page on this site.

Next camp I intend to try a hill camp - both previous attempts on a hill have been either a partial fail or a complete fail, so it's time to push out of my comfort zone and try again! Hopefully some colder temperatures coming soon too so I can really get the most about of my winter gear. See you soon :D Claire
